The Booking Process
If you haven’t booked your session yet, please fill out the booking request form to give me an idea of what you’re after. This helps us save time as I would still need to ask you the same questions over phone or email. Please give me 1-2 working days to review your request (e.g. check the weather for your preferred dates) and get back to you with any questions or recommendations.
When we have settled on the specifics for our session, I will email you a standard photography contract which you can review and sign online. You will also receive an invoice for the session fee. A non-refundable $200 retainer will be due upon signing to reserve your time slot.
If you chosen session date is less than 10 calendar days away, I will ask that you pay for the entire session at this time. Otherwise, the balance for your session will be due 7 days before your session date.
If you haven’t already done so, I will ask you to fill out a brief questionnaire about your pet and return it to me at least a week before our session to help me prepare for our session and make any special arrangements that might be needed.
For best results, we want your pet to be as happy and comfortable as possible, so we will try to maintain a fun and relaxed atmosphere. We will play things by ear based on how your pet responds to me and the camera and hopefully have a good time while getting some great images.
After the Shoot
The photo shoot is only one part of my job. After the shoot, I will spend 2-3 weeks editing and preparing your images for proofing. I know you’re excited to see your photos, but please remember that pet photos often require more editing than human photos, and even if you don’t hear from me for a bit, rest assured that I’m working hard to do justice to your beloved pet.
Online Viewing & Order Gallery
When I’m finished editing, your photos will be uploaded to my client gallery where you can view, download, and purchase prints and print products.
Digital images can be downloaded directly from your online gallery. If you are downloading an entire gallery or album at a time, you will receive an email containing a link for your download. You can also have your digital images delivered by mail on a USB stick for an additional fee.
Physical Prints & Products
You are free to take your images for printing by a 3rd party photo lab, but you can also order prints through me from your online gallery. Simply click the “Buy” button for an image you want to order and you will be able to select the size and type of print you want.
When you order prints through me, I will perform additional editing, cropping, and formatting before sending them to the print lab and that cost is built into the product price. Depending on the number and type of prints, this can take a few working days to a week. The print lab will also have their own turnaround time (usually 1-3 days for smaller items, 4-5 days for larger items, and longer for more complex products) before shipping the print(s) to you.
Your photos can also be printed on products such as mugs, mousepads, greeting cards, and more. Because each product requires specific templates and formatting due to varying product dimensions, when you order these product from me, I will personally prepare the print files using professional graphic design software before sending them to be printed and shipped.
If you have any questions before, during, or after the process, please feel free to send me an email.
